As we finished the Arise Initiative in 2019, we began to turn our attention to where God is leading Foley UMC next. Watch the video above for a recaip of Arise. As we were wrapping up the Arise Initiative, this past fall, we presented three identical town hall gatherings to share some of the current reality of our community and hear things about our community that resonated with the congregation. Then, in early in February, our church’s leadership and many people from the congregation gathered to spend 24 hours praying and discerning what the next steps for the church would be. 

February 16, 2020 was a great day of celebration in the life of Foley UMC as we presented the results of that retreat to the rest of the congregation. Far from finishing Arise and sitting back down, coasting, or getting comfortable, we are moving boldly into the future God has for us. We are celebrating God’s faithfulness in leading us this far, unpacking the picture of where he is leading next, and we will commit ourselves as a church to taking the next steps to fulfill God’s desires for Foley UMC.
