The Rev. Dr. Lance Moore was born in Pensacola in 1957, and has spent most of his life in South Alabama and the Florida panhandle. His parents were Baldwin County natives. Lance is an Ordained Elder and his education includes Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Candler School of Theology at Emory, and an English Degree from Auburn University. He enjoys reading, writing, music (guitar), and water sports.
Lance’s wife, Diana Teem Moore, was born in Foley, Alabama in 1962, and has been a life-long Methodist. Lance and Diana have been married for over 20 years, with two teenage daughters: Melissa and Amanda. Diana graduated from Auburn University, and works in the offices of First Gulf Bank. She enjoys gardening, water sports and horses.
After brief careers as a touring guitarist and as a business manager, Lance had a spiritual re-awakening in his mid twenties and received the call to preach. For over 20 years, he has since served a variety of pastoral charges and leadership positions in the Alabama-West Florida Conference. Dr. Moore is a nationally-known writer (author of Outdoors with God and The Neurotics Guide to God and Love, published by Barbour Publishing; co-author of Firm Foundations: An Architect and a Pastor Guide Your Church Construction, with CSS Publishing; contributing writer for five editions of the presitigious Abingdon Preaching Annual).
